what is CCS skagerrak - kattegat

The overall aim of this project is to provide a basis for establishing a coordinated Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) infrastructure in the Scandinavian countries, with special focus on the Interreg region (Skagerrak-Kattegat-Øresund).
Fossil fuels are abundant and will be used in the foreseeable future. CCS is one promising set of technologies that can bridge the gap to a sustainable future, based on renewables and more efficient use of energy.
Successful implementation of CCS depends i.a. on the establishment of cost efficient transportation and storage infrastructure. A prerequisite for such a development is international and regional cooperation between authorities, industry and politicians.
